Stefanie Tranchida
Stefanie is an accomplished artist, director, and educator whose talents span voice, acting, and gymnastics. With a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Conservatorio G. Tartini in Trieste, Italy, she refined her artistry under the guidance of maestros Lorenzo Regazzo and Paoletta Morrocu. Known for her “rich and enchanting” lyric soprano voice, Stefanie’s versatility shines as she performs across genres—bringing life to jazz, folk, musical theatre, opera, art song, and oratorio.
Recently, audiences in southeast Minnesota enjoyed her performances as Nicola in Calliope Theatre Company’s Kinky Boots and as the soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Austin MN Symphony Orchestra. She will additionally be singing the role of Lauretta in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi in July 2025. As the Artistic Director of Hometown Opera Company in Rochester, Minnesota, she is dedicated to bringing opera to local audiences. Stefanie’s leadership extends to her role as vocal director for the Rochester Civic Theatre, where she worked on Newsies and will soon lend her expertise to Anastasia. She has been teaching for over thirteen years, getting her start with Teach for America in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2011. She describes her teaching style as adaptable, supportive and has a proven ability to lead students to achieve a high standard of excellence in voice and piano.
Her artistry is further shaped by the guidance of esteemed teachers and coaches, including Carla Thelen Hanson, Eric McEaney, Pat Anderson, Fiorenza Badila Costantini, Patrizia Tirindelli, Rosalba Trevisan, and Joseph Baunoch.
